I had the chance to work with GUZZZ, a fantastic artist, a few years ago. I was a model, he was a painter and a photographer, and he had this great bodypainting project that he wanted me to be part of.

Gradually, through the brush strokes, the clicks of his camera, his antics, my laughs, and our growing complicity, images of a moving beauty took shape.

Of this artistic meeting were not only born true masterpieces of photography, but also a great friendship between this talented artist and me. GUZZZ, thank you for your generosity. I admire your talent, your vision, your sensitivity and your imagination, wich make you a painter-photographer who stands out and inspires.

Over time, GUZZZ's project has grown and the interest of the public has become exponential. His works have been seen in Cannes, in Florence, and in Paris at the famous Salon des Beaux-Arts of the Carrousel du Louvre. They have also been exhibited in Montreal and are in permanent exhibition at Toronto's Kipling Gallery.

My work is the result of a unique process, bringing together various mediums, the body as a moving canvas, taking successively different forms. The capture of each moment becomes a work of art in itself.

I think I have always been an artist. A sensitive being. I liked getting lost in my thoughts while looking at the infinitesimal or at the infinitely big. When I was young, I drew constantly; meanders, brightly coloured furrows...

Over the years, I discovered inspiration. I immersed myself with what surrounded me or with what was in me to express an emotion, to create.

I met photography in my early adulthood and I have never stopped exploring since then.

I liked to be surprised by the unprecedented, the unexpected. My first shots: cement or asphalt cracks, reflections of the sky in a puddle. I was always looking for abstraction, for the ephemeral, for THE moment. Soon enough, I explored the artistic nude. The body. This fascninating subject, always in perpetual movement and so different from one person to another...

It is during a long journey in Europe that my taste for arts in all its forms asserted itself. Music, poetry, dance, visual arts, achitecture... As soon as I came back home, I began studying Visual Arts at the University of Quebec in Montreal. Spending every day in a world of creation and creators was one of the beautiful moments of my life.

It has been four years now that I returned to a life of pure creation, having dedicaded a few decades to meet the needs for my family. I am inspired by the artistic paths of Les Automatistes and the Expressionists, as well as the diverse cultures around the world.

As for my approach, it is inspired by the human's concern for his image.

Will be presented at the Merlino Gallery in Florence, from April 16th to 30th 2018

All material and techniques are allowed to achieve my goals: gouache, acrylic, clay, sand, paper, photography, collage, pencil, digital techniques, painting on the body, etc. Successively, the canvas takes several forms, according to the stage of creation, and the subject is called to move, to be seen, and better still, to be moved. More than a human body stripped of its artifices, the canvas has a soul, a past, a future, and it brings us to be directly in touch with its present.

The experience thus takes a form that I shall call «face», such as a look on oneself, a facet of a reflection of oneself shaped in the present moment. The ephemerality of the moment is an instant of sublime liberty, of letting go.

This new character, so unique, is sometimes sad, dark and mysterious, sometimes luminous, joyful and resplendent. The following moment, all of this becomes a thing of the past, leaving only an imprint on the film of the camera.

It is only by working as a duo that the image can be created. Each performance is a symbiosis between the artist and the subject.

I have always favored shapes, colors and textures. However, my approach has never stopped evolving.

The message of creative freedom of the beginning gradually takes on a more targeted and asserted vocation, always around the relationship of the human with the image he projects, but also showing the effect of these behaviors on the environment. I tend to want to present a message of urgency that is not necessarily alarmist, but rather realistic.
