Madonna's Sex book, with Steven Meisel

Madonna

Sex
"Released on October 21, 1992, to accompany Madonna’s fifth studio album Erotica (released a day earlier), Sex is a coffee table book like no other.
Shot  in New York City and Miami, the locations ranged from hotels and burlesque theaters, to the streets of Miami. In spite mass controversy related to its release,  it was a commercial success with over 150,000 copies sold on the first day. This is still one of the most sought after, out of print books, and Cloud 8 Records is proud to sell this mint condition copy here in the store."

"Everything you are about to see and read is a fantasy, a dream, pretend"

"Most people want to hear me say that I regret publishing my Sex book. I don't. I'm not apologizing in any shape or form. I was interested in pushing buttons and being rebellious and being mischievous and trying to bend the rules."

By Steven Meisel, 1992
Texts by Madonna

"In Sex Madonna of course, was saying exactly what she wanted, warts and all... Indeed, this idea that she was penning her own sexual narrative was perhaps the most shocking part of the whole enterprise. And while it was easy to critique Sex, it should be applauded for this balls-to-the-wall honesty." Mosa and Art Model Sindy Kat

Mosa joins the UdA Art Editor's Team... a huge WELCOME.

Mosa and Art Model SindyKat

"Again she manges to take my breath away with her amazing performance and presence on stage. With each look she would transform to a different person, right in-front of my eyes/lens. Thank you my china girl."

"This set was shoot last time SindyKat visited me. Once every other year when she is in town, we get together and make art.

Occasionally I do some experiments as in this set. The DSLR camera was set to JPG/BW with high ISO, trying to imitate old times film cameras and the whole set was shoot in less than 30mins. None of the images have been cropped.

Since she is coming to for another session in a few days, I feel the images reflect my anticipation of working with her."

"I believe that the human body is a temple containing Spirit, it is a gesture of the vibration that is Universal Consciousness.

If God made the human body in its own form, I feel that the body – as a sacred vessel – should be looked upon respectfully, with the utmost reverence.

Naomi Campbell by Iango Henzi and Luigi Murenu

Naomi Elaine Campbell
May 22, 1970, Streatham, London, United Kingdom
1.77 m

"I feel very responsible for young models of colour. They come to me and tell me they're not getting jobs, and I do what I can to speak up for them."

And she's right. With Kae Love, Gregory Prescott, Steve Lease, André Brito and many other photographers, we love the diversity like her, and you see in the mag art models of all colors, races and religions.

Yes, Naomi Campbell is righ and helpful, because to be a black model is not an advantage and no matter her beauty. To have true curves like Jourdan Whitehead, also. But we are there to change this terrible fact, with all the people who know we are one, all sisters and brothers, despite some powerful hidden monsters who want in secret to divise us. Yes we can change the world together and it begins around us, just by our side, your side. Sometimes a smile is enough.

Naomi Campbell was 25th during this beautiful shooting.

For Lui Magazine France, October 2015

Luigi Murenu and Iango Henzi are a fashion photography duo. Their success comes from the fusion of both of their creative backgrounds :
"We come together to create. We are two people in one soul, with one view."

Model Lucy Liu and painter Yu Ling

Lucy Liu
December 2, 1968, Jackson Heights, New York City, New York, United States

Liu had previously presented her artwork under a pseudonym, Yu Ling.

Yu, who is an artist in several media, has had several gallery shows showcasing her collage, paintings and photography.

She began doing collage mixed media when she was 16 years old, and became a photographer and painter. Yu attended the New York Studio School to study drawing, painting, and sculpture from 2004 to 2006.

In September 2006, Yu held an art show and donated her share of the profits to UNICEF. She also had another show in 2008 in Munich. Her painting "Escape", was incorporated into Montblanc's Cutting Edge Art Collection and was shown during Art Basel Miami 2008, which showed works by contemporary American artists. Yu has stated that she donated her share of the profits from the NYC Milk Gallery gallery show to UNICEF. In London, a portion of the proceeds from her book Seventy Two went to UNICEF.

Yu has always been an artist, she explains. Even while she was shooting movies, she would be drawing or sewing in her trailer. But some years ago, she scratched her art itch more seriously by moving back to New York, buying a live-in studio, and enrolling at the New York Studio School :

I realised it was something I needed to do. It was important for me to go in that direction for my own sanity. So I went for the summer and I just realised, ''Oh my God. There's so much here that I need to explore."

Old chinese style

Lucy Liu is also a model who knows the photography she practices.

She choosed her photographers after, without any doubt, watching their work and admiring it. However, she could have been better for the series of Michel Comte with my famous friend Nikola Borissov, his 14 articles and his interview.

Cet obscur objet du désir series

I was dreaming ! Lucy is beautiful and I like these photographs, because if I publish them it's because I like them, of course.
