Vahid Naziri joins us

"The Orchids"
Art Model Mallory

All began with this kind comment of Vahid Naziri :
" I really like your mag. The quality of works in there is really amazing."

And soon I told him the same thing about his beautiful portfolio. What I saw touched me. Working mainly in bw, each of his pictures prooves his mastery of the composition.Using angles and perspectives with success, as great backgrounds, playing with the lights and darks, Vahid Naziri knows everything about the ways to capture the deepest emotions of the expressive (and renowned !) models he uses to work with.

Born in 1960, grew up with broken cameras as toys. My first working camera was some sort of a toy camera from Kodak.

Later on when I started mountain climbing and rock climbing I was always tasked to bring a camera to take pictures. Since family and friends liked my photos, I was asked on different occasions to shoot weddings and family portraitures.

The dream of becoming a pro photographer did not go very far. I entered the world of engineering instead.

These days I live in Woodland Hills, CA and I am still in love with photography.

"Time Out"

I see you have finally arrived. Now, for a brief moment, the paths of our lives have intersected. And what do I have to show you ? Mere glimpses. Moments not unlike this that I have frozen, a little piece of life that can be held, held still, but, still breathing. Perhaps the focus of my purpose can best be summed within this quotation from the writer Paul Bowles :

"... We get to think of life as an inexhaustible well. Yet everything happens only a certain number of times, and a very small number, really.

How many more times will you remember a certain afternoon of your childhood, some afternoon that's so deeply a part of your being that you can't even conceive of your life without it ? Perhaps four or five times more. Perhaps not even that.

How many more times will you watch the full moon rise ? Perhaps twenty. And yet it all seems limitless."

Welcome Robert Lubanski

Robert Lubanski at his official site on plfoto, ALTphotos, Model Mayhem, deviantART.

Robert Lubanski is a glamour, fashion and nude art photographer of 36 years old, born in Kalisz, the oldest town in Poland, and "temporarily" working in London.

This outstanding series made in difficult light conditions, for sure, was shooted in a polish forrest.
I'm sure you'll appreciate the superb lighting, the impressive compositions, the elegant poses of an expressive model and, of course, beyond the mastered use of the depth of field, the tones that make these pictures a must to see without moderation.

Doug Winsor is with us

Doug Winsor at deviantART, Model Mayhem.

"c . c-m"
Art Model Karma

Doug Winsor lives in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. ... Ok.

How old is he ? I don't know, and who cares ?...

How does he look like ? I don't find any self-portrait, but, again, who cares ?... His clichés are telling us everything we need.

Obviously very talented, with a clear predilection for black and white pictures, Doug Winsor calls himself "photo-manipulator", revealing by there the power of his imagination and the strength of his inspiration.

I can't tell you more about this "discreet" artist, published in Toronto Star, Globe and Mail, Now, Eye, Canadian Musician, Chart Mag, etc... except he's a true one that I'm impatient to know better.

" Very nice work. Never the same picture twice."

" Your work is very inspiring. Thanks for the motivation you provide me to be the best."

" Such a wonderful page, and models are so fine !"

"That's art."

Welcome Jim Young

"Lela 5"
Art Model Lela Rae

Jim Young... Viewed through the words of Iris Dassault, Jim Young is a great professionnal and a very kind man she loves work with.

Viewed through my eyes, surfing from site to site to know everything about him, I've discovered a really talented artist, since his childhood (as so many artists, check here) and a great master of light.

With a preference for black and white pictures, Jim Young has the gift to find everytime the best composition.

All his photos have a sense (I love that !), a story I could write, all coming from a beautiful inspiration that I admire, and I envy (writing is so "volatile"...).

Many photographers told me that an image worths a thousand words (thanks for the writers ! :), so here is the art of Jim Young.

" I am from the Detroit area. I have dedicated my life to the pursuit of exploring through the lens, new ways of viewing the female form. With light and shadow, I explore the essence of the beauty, in the lines, curves and shapes of the female body.

" I started in the arts in my early teens, drawing, painting, and taking pictures. My love of the natural world drove my art. I remember makeshift darkrooms in my parents' basements and community college photography classes.

" The realization of my artistic goals would have to wait, however. First came my stint in the corporate world, with a career at the telephone company. I traveled widely, and photographed landscapes in wild places.

" After 16 years of corporate life I was given the option of a buyout, and I decided to take it. I went back to school, and majored in photography. At school I found myself drawing and painting through required classes again. This time I learned how to do things the right way, though. How thankful I am now that I paid attention.

" I graduated from the Center for Creative Studies with a BFA. Along the way I discovered a new landscape to explore and a new way to explore it. The darkroom that had been my temple was becoming my bane; the digital world came into existence just in time for me. The idea of having to turn my work over to someone else to finish was not an option.

Jim Young in Digital photographer

" The new landscape I discovered in school was the female body, and the new way to explore was through digital photography. For me the art is not necessarily in the capture of an image ; it can be just the beginning. Give me an image and my current image editing software along with a tablet and a pen, all that drawing and painting converge with my darkroom experience to help me create my own reality. I'm looking for the essence of the beauty that is in front of me. When I feel the convergence is right, a new image is born."

Nikola Borissov for the first time

Nikola Borissov

"Svilena is happy"
Actress Svilena Kidess

Vanya

Nikola Borissov is 27 years old and lives in Milan, Italy (or Sofia, Bulgaria).

Street and portrait photographer that travels a lot for Vogue, Maxim and many other great names, I know his wonderful work since my "first steps" in the fine art world. He's one of my favorite photographers, a great one full of a creative passion for love and beauty.

Reading his diary with an endless pleasure, I always found we have a lot in common : our way to watch the "civilized" world, our love for joy and hapiness, our need to make something to make the world better, and above all, our so deep vocation to which we give our entire life... totally, without any concession...

So, it's a great honour and a privilege to welcome such a great artist.

Deya I

Actress Svilena Kidess

" I was born in Bulgaria in 1980. In 1999 I moved to Milan when I graduated in Political Sciences and International Economics.
During my studies I became obsessed with photography and dedicated my life, soul, passion and emotions to it. Through photography I learned how to see, I opened my eyes and saw the raw beauty of the world, that is all around us, sometimes hidden or distorted, but still there ; I merged myself with the perfection of the moment, of the beauty, of nature, of people. Photography let me breathe freely."

Svetle for Maxim

Gabriela Barros

All his passion from his diary (two years ago) :

"Obsession"

" Life is a really strange thing. I mean, really. You never know what might happen tomorrow. Or after an hour. Fascinating, isn't it ? But at the end, life is beautiful. That's what I wrote about last night in my main blog (it's in Bulgarian, I don't have the mental resource to write so much in English).

Everything is strange, beautiful, colorful, infinite. And the world is just so big, so strange, so... so much of everything. And I want to capture it all, to admire everything, to penetrate everything. I want to capture the soul of things, the meaning of being. And the only instrument for me is my photography. An image can tell more than thousands and thousands of words could ever do.

Things are undescrivable, but... feelable ? And the perfect photograph is still out there, waiting for me to see it and capture it. Click. The perfect moment, the perfect subject, the perfect meaning. The essence of perfection... I've always tried to achieve it, in everything I do, even before discovering photography's charm and becoming obsessed with it.

"Bodygraphia workshop VI"

" There's so much to see, so many things to do, so many places to visit, so many people to meet, so many perfect moments to contemplate, so many stories to hear, so many stories to tell, so many things to be inspired from, so many moments you want to last forever... Life is beautiful, yes, but so short.

O Sonho - "The Dream"

"Svilena II 2"
Actress Svilena Kidess

" And I am already 25, and completely blank. Unformatted. I haven't achieved nothing. I have been nowhere. I am like a white piece of paper, waiting to be written on.

Sometimes I am nowhere, and yet everywhere. I don't exist, and yet I am everything. I do nothing, and yet I dream of doing so many things. And I am like the zephyr (what a beautiful, tasty word... zephyr zephyr zephyr), like the desert wind, uncatchable, untouchable, unseen and unseenable.

I am one with the heart of the Earth, the soul of Gaya, with the essence of it all... and yet I am continiously trying to capture it.

I am a Chevalier de la Lumière, a Knight of the Light... And my eye is my sword. You know, actually photography is a very philosophycal thing. Teaches you to see things."
